Flaggship Center will serve the needs
of a particular segment of the homeless population -- those people
who have demonstrated a strong desire to re-enter the mainstream and
regain their footing as active, productive members of the community.
The PURPOSE of the Center is to enable people
-- dependent upon public assistance or without adequate economic means --
to meet their own physical, emotional, and economic needs so they can
successfully transition from dependency to self-sufficiency.
We approach the homeless problem differently --
| Clients will earn their own way, develop job skills and relevant
work experience with economic value, and accumulate
resources to assure success in the real world. |
Flaggship Center will be structured to allow economically disadvantaged
people to reestablish their connection with society through a series
of carefully planned and supervised phases whose primary objective is to restore their
individual dignity and re-integrate them into the economic system.
While the clients are participating in Flaggship Center, they will be
provided the support necessary to restore them to the mainstream
community. This support will include, but not be limited to:
| Reconnecting people with mainstream society by
dealing with the whole person and their comprehensive set of needs. |
- Shelter, food, clothing, and medical care
- Facilities for entertainment and education
- Skills testing and job training
- Life skills development
- Job placement assistance
- Housing location and assistance
- Employment in meaningful jobs within Flaggship Center.
When the client has achieved the emotional, physiological,
and economic status necessary to permit him/her to establish an
independent life within the mainstream society, he/she will graduate
from the Center and will take that step with confidence and assurance
of success.
